MSFW 2009; launch party

Written by Daniel P Dykes

It's not yet Spring in Australia, but that hasn't stopped MSFW (Melbourne Spring Fashion Week) getting into full swing as of today, nor did it stop Melbourne's fashion scene soaking up the ambiance of venue fortyfivedownstairs at last night's Melbourne Spring Fashion Week launch party.

Strangely devoid of a fashion parade, the evening's "extravagant" dress code seemed well lived up to and while there were plenty of over-the-top fashion choices, the demure and detailed, such as Jess Hart's one shouldered Aurelio Costarella mini dress, proved equally as eye catching.

Keep an eye on Fashionising.com and our dedicated MSFW section for more coverage of this year's Melbourne Spring Fashion Week.

Traditionalist and futurist are two of the labels applied to Daniel, but he sees the two as being in perfect balance. With a keen eye on the future and his finger on the pulse he helps keep fashionisers everywhere ahead in the fashion stakes as Fashionising.com's lead fashion trend analyst. Believing that the late-2000s credit crisis will be ultimately good for fashion, Daniel sees a future for fashion where grounded in traditional values; where luxury fashion again comes to represent quality production as opposed to being solely label driven.
