I came across an article on Product Dose about the Postmodern Utilo Tea Stick. You basically throw in some loose tea and drop the stick into a cup of water – a really lazy way to make tea. The stick is described as being made of “the brand’s distinctively bold stainless steel”… Uh, what modern kitchen appliance isn’t made from stainless steel these days?

I can’t help but find it all very wrong. Sure, it’s a handy idea. But tea should NEVER involve stainless steel, of any kind.

Pewter, yes. Silver, of course. Find bone china – most definitely! But not stainless steel.

Tea is a historical and cultural institution – bring back the good old-fashioned tea-pot!!

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
