For a time its key phrases entered the popular lexicon. And you could argue that it was the very thing that allowed The September Issue to ever be green lit. Such was the popularity of The Devil Wears Prada, a book now nearing 10 years of age.
Fashion seldom ever gets a sequel, but successful fiction often does. So it is that in 2013 The Devil Wears Prada will its own.
With a title sadly not as clever by half as the one which saw author Lauren Weisberger morph Vogue’s Anna Wintour into Miranda Priestly, Revenge Wears Prada will see a further chapter told in the fictional lives of Priestly and Andrea Sachs.
As EW have learned:
Revenge Wears Prada picks up eight years after Andy parted ways with Miranda on bad terms. Andy is now editing The Plunge, the hottest bridal magazine around, alongside Emily, her one-time Runway nemesis turned current BFF. While Andy is planning her own wedding to Max, a handsome media scion, she remains haunted by her impeccably heeled former boss — and the magazine world being as small as it is, it’s only a matter of time before she hears the dreaded syllables “Ahn-dre-ah!” again.
The Devil Wears Prada sequel, Revenge Wears Prada, will be published in April 2013.
