There aren't too many events in Melbourne that can be deemed high-society, and will still be appeal to those able to stay up beyond midnight. And of those there are, 5TH AVENUE is certainly one of them.
5TH AVENUE is a concept derived from the exclusive celebrity parties held in New York on 5TH AVENUE, where wealth and elegance are in abundance and high fashion fills the plush bars and VIP rooms of the hottest venues in town.
It's an up market charity event, designed to bring out the elite, a blend of educated 25-45 year olds including top designers, fashion enthusiasts, celebrities, models, entertainment & industry peers, sponsors & exclusively invited guests.
Flamingo Sands are holding an end of summer sale, with up to 40% off current season stock. If you're after a bargain on swimwear and bikinis, this might just be your chance. Visit FlamingoSands.com.

Many talented designers emerge at the Federation Square Breakthrough Program. Tomorrow night the program presents "Four Seasons" - a perfectly Melbournian look at trans-seasonal fashion:
The silver screen has long been the domain of sexy starlets and classic beauties, and the film industry's influence on fashion is certainly undeniable.
From the 1930s through to the present day, Carol Lee over at Papermag lists 40 films that will whet your appetite for fashion. From the classic styling of Kim Novak in Hitchcock's Vertigo, to Faye Dunaway's iconic look in Bonnie and Clyde, to Angelina Jolie's Gia. Interestingly enough it seems The Devil Wears Prada didn't make the cut on this list.
Not all obvious choices, so worth a look.

Kylie Minogue's exhibition held at London's Victoria and Albert Museum has been labelled inappropriate by British art critics.
Its not the only problem of recent times for the Australian singer, having recently after splitting from French actor Olivier Martinez.
The exhibition holds costumes, album covers and photographs, however Britain's The Observer newspaper reports that these commodities are not worthy of being held at a museum.
The museum defends its claim to the exhibition which aims to entice fashion students.
The British National Portrait Gallery certainly thinks they know how to pull a crowd - as from 15 February the gallery will use supermodel Kate Moss to headline their new exhibition "Face of Fashion" featuring a series of portraits by photographer (and the person also touted as having brought Moss to fame) Corrine Day.

Some of you may have been keeping up with my "What to Drink" posts in the forum (if you haven't you should definitely check it out). I thought since we all now had the chance to contribute to Rogue's Lifestyle blog I would start writing about it in our Culture channel
So what to start off with? Last night we had a bit of a celebration (I've left my current job to give more time to Rogue Ménage) so to celebrate we had a little night out culminating in a sampling session of alcoholic beverages, and for this experiment we thought we would give the green light to Van Gogh Vodka. And why not? The Dirkzwager distillery has received royal appointment from Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, so it was probably a safe bet. 'Hold on Allan', I hear you say, 'wasn't Van Gogh a painter, and didn't he cut off his own ear?'. Ah, yes. But, with both the brand and the painter being Dutch it seemed enough of a reason to name the range after him; they are after all proud of their heritage, traditions, and methods;
All Van Gogh flavoured vodkas are distilled and bottled by the Royal Dirkzwager Distilleries in Schiedam, Holland, a city famous since the 16th century for innovation in the distillation sciences.
Handmade in small batches by our own Master Distiller Tim Vos, Van Gogh Flavored Vodka is painstakingly crafted using only the finest fruit, grains and purified water. The grain alcohol goes through a multiple distillation process followed by an all-natural double infusion flavoring process, an innovative six-week procedure pioneered by the Royal Dirkzwager Distilleries
