Wrapped by Housemouse installation

There's always something happening at Prahran hair salon Blondes to Brunettes. Last time it was afternoon tea with Nadia Pearse, designer from amazing eco label Made In Donald. This month it's something different entirely; a unique installation by award-winning Melbourne design team Housemouse.

Three mannequins capture the attention of passers-by as they stand in the window of Blondes To Brunettes, wearing nothing but creative and eye-catching hair styles. Each style was intricately crafted out of Wrapped By Housemouse 100% eco-friendly designer wrapping paper.

Little Black Dress runway parade at RSFF

If there's one thing that never goes out of style, it's the Little Black Dress. At this week's Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival, a special event took place that demonstrated just how versatile a great LBD can be; it all comes down to details, accessories, and attitude.

Win: ELFE Eco Luxe Parade tickets, MSFW

Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW) is just around the corner - and as well as our very own High Fashion, High Tea, there are a number of other events we're very much looking forward to attending.

We love the concept behind the upcoming Eco Luxe Fashion Exposé (ELFE). Promising to prove that eco fashion is about more than "unshaven armpits and potato sacks", ELFE will bring breathtaking sustainable fashion to the runway. But ticket bearers will not just be treated to a parade: to earn its title of "exposé", ELFE will also include market stalls, display lounges, and live entertainment. We also have a double pass to the event to give away to a lucky reader!

In your giftbag: BareMinerals Makeup

The MSFW (Melbourne Spring Fashion Week) program has launched; and tickets to 2009's High Fashion, High Tea are selling fast. Earlier in the week we revealed Joolz pandora bracelets to be one of this year's gift bag goodies. We're also excited to reveal that guests will be treated to a luxury mini-makeup set from BareMinerals; a makeup line completely formulated with crushed minerals from the earth, making it supple, natural, and preservative-free.

We're thrilled to be able to bring you a brand as strong and unique as BareMinerals, who work hard to set themselves apart by avoiding the usual long lists of weird-sounding chemicals and sticking instead to the natural goodness of mother earth. If you've never tried BareMinerals foundation before, now's your chance - we're sure you'll love it as much as we do.

In Your Gift Bag: Joolz Pandora bracelet

With September less than a month away, MSFW (Melbourne Spring Fashion Week) officially launches today, and with it comes the release of the official program. Previously announced and no surprise to Melbourne's fashionisers, Fashionising.com will be again hosting the week's most luxurious fashion event: High Fashion, High Tea. No fashion event is complete without a gift bag, and no Fashionising.com event is complete without a gift bag that leaves a lasting impression.

Over the coming month indulge us, if you will, as we take a sneak peak inside the High Fashion, High Tea gift bag that is valued at over $400 and is exclusively available to 2009's guests. And while we often save the best till last, it pleases us no end to today preview a standout item of this year's gift bag: a complete Joolz Pandora bracelet.

Alexi Freeman at State Of Design Festival

Melbourne's State Of Design festival is in full swing - and so far, we've not been disappointed. As we've been happily following the work of local design talent Alexi Freeman for some time, we thought we'd point out the label's presence on the festival calendar. Architecture and fashion collide in a collaboration between Alexi Freeman and Aaron Roberts of Room11, as part of the intriguing Cloud 19 exhibition:

"Focusing on the interconnected realms of both disciplines, the collaboration will explore the intersection of processes developed by both practices. The AFAR PROJECT #2 recontextualises the plaid motif in the ALEXI FREEMAN Spring Summer 09/10 collection, plays with the interplay of shadow and light and concepts relating to current room11 work."

Melbourne Spring Fashion Week Breakfast Series

While Fashionising.com's High Fashion, High Tea 2009 has your fashionable afternoon tea needs covered, those behind this year's MSFW (Melbourne Spring Fashion Week) think you might be after a spot of breakfast as well. So much so, they've organised an entire Melbourne Spring Fashion Week Breakfast Series aimed to not only stimulate your taste buds but you're brain too.

Announcing High Fashion, High Tea 2009

When we launched High Fashion, High Tea as a part of MSFW (Melbourne Spring Fashion Week) 2008 we wanted it to be an event that would exude luxury. Whether it was the involvement of leading Australian designers and labels, the delightful food and drink, or the much-talked-about gift bags, we wanted every aspect of High Fashion, High Tea to represent the lifestyle that Fashionising.com is about.

In 2009, we're taking it to a whole new level.
