Burberry: sensory extravaganza live stream video

They may have opened a landmark store in Sydney and even made it snow (indoors no less) upon their autumn 2011 catwalk and yet it seems that Burberry have saved the best till last China.

Proving both their intrinsic understanding of where technology and fashion intersect, not to mention the rise of China as a global fashion power, the British fashion house will tomorrow host a live-stream of their celebration of China. What exactly does a 'celebration of China' entail when it comes to Burberry I hear you ask. Britishness. Music. Technology. Fashion. Such things will see British band Keane perform live, the arrivals and the red carpet documented, and the whole event accessible in the most immersive of fashions by way of a multi-angle live stream that will be broadcast on Fashionising.com. Given they're a fashion house the description of the technology Burberry will be employing for the stream makes you wonder why they're leading where the TV and cinema industries really ought to be. But for all the angles and live music, there's one thing that has really whet my appetite: Burberry will be providing a new take on their autumn / winter 2011 catwalk, one that uses "virtual image technology" to combine "live models with animated footage and life-like holograms."

I know that sounds abstract, but after the jump you can see a preview of Burberry's animated catwalk and also find out the details on what time you can watch the live stream video of their Beijing event on Fashionising.com.

Words to live by

Excuse the lo-fi quality, this was snapped on my iPhone at Pitti Uomo today, but given the sentiments of the quote run so close to Fashionising.com’s own outlook on the matter, the opportunity was just too good to pass up.

Portsea Polo 2011

Saturday found the Fashionising.com crew enjoying the hospitality of the lovely people at Stella Artois once again as they hosted us in their marquee at the Portsea Polo. This year, Stella Artois played host to a bevy of Melbourne’s A list with guests ranging from Michael Klim to breakout model Jessica Hart, alongside equally-as-gorgeous sister Ashley. Even our notorious weather couldn’t upstage the event with…

ASUZA flagship store opening

ASUZA is a collaborative label between Jonny Goldcoast and Dan Preston who are from Sydney and Melbourne respectively, so picking a flagship store may have been tricky. Happily enough they’ve landed on a brilliant space along Melbourne’s iconic Brunswick St, and recently they had Fashionising.com along to the opening where we captured the atmosphere to share with you.

Puma Social Launch Party

We don’t often find ourselves playing minigolf during the early hours of a Saturday morning, though much to our amusement it’s exactly what we found ourselves doing over the weekend. The reason? We ended up at a very lively party for Puma’s latest initiative – Puma Social. When we finally put our golf clubs down we picked up a few drinks and our camera and…

Audi unveils the A8 in Melbourne

It’s not a rarity to find me front and centre for the launch of a new fashion collection. For the launch of a car, however… well that still is some what of a rarity. Surely car launches aren’t a commonality? Audi launches certainly aren’t. Audis are a rare thing: a piece of technology whose focus seems anything but. To take their own words: an Audi…

GAP opening celebrations at Chadstone

Returning to Australia always serves as a reminder for precisely how far behind the world this country’s retail scene actually is. If not necessarily in terms of quality, but at least in terms of the amount of international brands that have failed to reach its high street, Australia seems behind. But that seems certain to change over the next twelve months. Raoul is here. Zara…

Oak Off Chapel launches

Fashionably tucked away down a dark laneway off Chapel St, Prahran, we entered into the abandoned warehouse that is Oak Off Chapel through a low cut-out hole in a graffitied rollardoor. A dark flight of stairs later and we found ourselves in an exhibition space-slash-boutique where clothes and accessories by independent designer labels hung from the ceilings in clusters. I’m smitten by the small yet…
