The fact that the MET Gala was punk themed didn’t stop Katy Perry from avoiding the look altogether. Her wearing of Dolce & Gabbana pieces was exactly as the catwalk intended. Not so for Giovanna Battaglia, who opted for a golden crown of safety pins.

It wasn’t hard to adore every inch of Dolce & Gabbana’s autumn 2013 collection when it took to its Milanese catwalk. And it was just as easy to adore it at the MET Gala as the gilt mosaic collection crowned Katy Perry.

Cara Delevingne’s look from the MET Gala‘s Punk: Chaos to Couture opening could be described as something of a Morticia Addams one were it not for the padlocked, mesh clutch bag she had in hand. All plunge and studs, the model took to the Gala’s red carpet decked out in Burberry.
