The program of this year’s LMFF (L’Oreal Melbourne fashion festival) is overflowing – so it would be ambitious to try and make half of the events, let alone all. So with the program now out, it’s time to sit down and pencil into your diary the must-go events of the week – and to start booking your tickets before they sell out. We’ve already given you our list of 5 of the best free events to head to. Without further ado here are 5 picks of ticketed events worthy of your diary this year.

Grace Kelly: Style Icon
From March 11 to June 17, 2012, a trip to Bendigo has never been so firmly on the cards. Head to the Goldfields area of Melbourne for the day and peruse this special exhibition at the Bendigo Art Gallery, exploring the evolution of Princess Grace’s inimitable style. You’ll also see in person some of her haute couture gowns from the 1960s and 70s, two eras strongly influencing fashion right now.

LMFF National Graduate Showcase
You can’t beat the creativity and freshness of youth. Twelve handpicked graduate designers from around Australia will break onto the runway on Tuesday March 13, bringing their newly innovative designs to the public. Full details here.

Midmouse at Penthouse Mouse
Penthouse Mouse is like a mini festival in of itself. All at once an installation, shop, bar and general purveyor of local talent, this year will also see a runway show/party on the 9th of March. Location and ticket prices not yet announced – keep an eye on their facebook and Twitter for updates.

LMFF Independent Runway
For a little peek at some of Australia’s edgier designers, the Independent Runway is always worth the night out. This year established rebels Ksubi are opening the show, followed by a host of emerging designer talents. More info and tickets here.
