Occurring just before Melbourne's Spring Racing Carnival, the fashion week brings the best of Spring/Summer fashion to the city. Below you'll find coverage of MSFW 2010 and past years such as MSFW 2009 and MSFW 2008.

We've given you a run down of each designer that graced the catwalk at 2009's High Fashion, High Tea - well, all but one anyway. Last but not least, here is the coverage from the uber-talented Cyan Reign who blew us away with her edgy, unique pieces.

Subfusco as an Australian label are going from strength to strength. Their Spring/Summer 2010 collection - titled 'Collective Species' - stands out as designer Joshua Roberto Scacheri's best yet. On the runway at High Fashion, High Tea each outfit coherently fit with the story behind the collection: hope for humanity in a post-apocalyptic world.

We first fell in love with Nicola Finetti's Spring/Summer 2009/2010 collection when it hit the runway at RAFW, so we were more than a little excited to present a selection of the pieces at 2009's High Fashion, High Tea. The sharp shapes and figure-hugging silhouettes are intensely flattering to the female figure, while the futuristic overtones make the collection bang on-trend and perfect for any Spring wardrobe.

Airdrie Makim - the talent behind jewellery label Joolz - is always finding new ways to incorporate unique materials into her pieces. From antique playing cards and umbrella silks, to vintage animal toys, the selection of pieces to traverse the runway at High Fashion, High Tea was captivating to say the least. Jewellery was layered up and paired with beautiful vintage dresses from Sydney's Vintage Luggage Company to complete the show's looks.

Seeing the latest offerings from IM is always a great pleasure. European designer lingerie of only the highest quality makes it into IM's boutiques - with Christies, La Perla, Aubade, and Nina Ricci amoung the labels stocked. The selection of intimates to sail down the runway at High Fashion, High Tea was no disappointment either; sets of lingerie were accessorised by dainty eye-masks, roses, and show-girl feathered head pieces for a truly bewitching effect.

Put on one of the pieces from Hussy's Summer 2010 collection, and it's impossible not to feel like a mighty Goddess in command of her own destiny. Aptly titled 'Warrior Princess', the references to ancient dress, including armour, are clear; studs, Grecian draping, heavy beading, and Amazonian feather detailing all featured when Hussy hit the runway for 2009's High Fashion, High Tea.

Antonia Paris is one burgeoning designer that we've been watching for a while now; her ability to inject a wow-factor into pieces that are otherwise made up of clean lines and block colours is a developed skill, and seems to be emerging as her trademark style. Last year it was all about ruffles and asymmetry; at High Fashion, High Tea 2009, we saw a collection of pieces in simple black and white, that rather made their finer detailing the focus - from cutaway shoulders, to unconventional draping, to intricate beading.

Saint Augustine Academy have wowed us time and again with their rock-inspired looks. Mixing Dandy elements with 60s Mod shapes in their Spring/Summer 2009/2010 collection, the label achieved a level of effortless charm. On the runway at High Fashion, High Tea 2009 models rocked ruffle-front tuxedo minidresses, sheer and lace detailing, and - one of our favourites - some silk shantung short shorts that can so easily transcend from day to night.

It's a unique partnership, but one we're looking forward to developing further; for who could argue that fashion and graphic design are not in some ways related? Wrapped by Housemouse first came to our attention at this year's State Of Design festival, where they were exhibiting their award winning, eco-friendly, 100% Australian Owned designer wrapping paper range. The paper is modern and funky, so much so that it can also double as poster art. 200 guests at this year's High Fashion, High Tea were treated to a piece of Wrapped By Housemouse for a very unique and unconventional gift-bag gift that's been very well received.

Guests at High Fashion, High Tea were lucky enough to be some of the first to experience byAngelique LipFresh, which has only just hit the market with it's mint-infused formula. But they weren't the only ones: the lips of models backstage were kept lush and picture-perfect with lashings of LipFresh. Feedback from both the guests and the models has been so good that we thought we should let you know that it's now available for purchase online for just $14.95.

Gwendolynne is something of a Melbourne fashion icon. Well known for her intricate beading and elaborate detailing, each of her pieces is not just exquisite, but also timeless. On the runway at MSFW (Melbourne Spring Fashion Week) for High Fashion, High Tea 2009, Gwendolynne's gowns were paired with equally beautiful headpieces by Richard Nylon.
While her offering at the Town Hall Designer Series Show 1 was more whimsical - with shorter hemlines and vibrant colours - Saturday's show focused on the classically romantic; with slim silhouettes, sweeping trains, ruffles, bows, pearls and pleats.

From the very beginning of the fourth of the official catwalks held during 2009's Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW) there was a seemingly collective effort for most of the labels to lean towards one of the this year's more subtle trends fashion year; the tribal nomad. The trend, which has seen a very steady following in menswear recent years courtesy of labels such as Damir Doma and Julius, was reinterpreted into women's wear.

With a mixture of day and evening ware, which highlighted the structure and quality of good cuts that make for a strong wardrobe, the third of the official Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW) fashion parades proved to be the strongest. Equally as strong was the parade's offering of Spring/Summer 2009's must-have fashion trends.

Hitting the second catwalk of second of the official Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW) fashion parades, Dhini opened with a march and salute that proved that the military fashion trend is equally as strong for Spring/Summer 2009/2010 in Melbourne as it has been elsewhere.
Though fashion trends didn't prove be a major reference point for all designers involved.

Yes, we're still in recovery from yesterday's High Fashion, High Tea which marks the end of our involvement in this year's Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW). But never fear, plenty more coverage is still to come. Along with coverage of more MSFW shows, you can also expect plenty of coverage from Fashionising.com's afternoon tea and fashion fusion.
To kick that off, we have society coverage from High Fashion, High Tea from our roving street style photographer Giang Cao.

Never let it be said that the fashion industry isn't hard work.

The Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW) series of official catwalks returned to the Melbourne Town Hall last night in a show that presented women's Spring/Summer 2009/2010 clothes and accessories which, for the most part, absconded from structure and, instead, depended on flow and layers to make a statement.

One of the MSFW (Melbourne Spring Fashion Week) retail program events worth visiting tonight is the Spring/Summer 2009/2010 collection launch of Alexi Freeman. Held at the beautiful Comme, guests will not only get to view the collection in person, but will also have the opportunity to pre-order pieces at 25% off.

Though physically a small and cleanly laid out exhibition, The Spirit of the Black Dress was the result of bucket-loads of talent. 10 uber-impressive black dresses, each with their own unique twists, lined the room; while behind them, wall mounted, a dark and sensual portrait of each dress gave another perspective to the concept. The photographer was Christian Blanchard; a dapper young man with cheeky eyes, dishevelled hair, and a very bright future. Blanchard's folio of ad campaigns and magazine editorials is impressive; his work on the exhibition striking, aided by superb hair and make-up by Ashleigh Richards and Carl Reeves.

While events such as tonight's official catwalk may garner the most attention, fashion in Melbourne is best consumed on the city's streets and down it's lane-ways (a fact that Colonial First State remains selectively ignorant of). So it was that, with the MSFW (Melbourne Spring Fashion Week) opening party out of the way, I headed to the oft overlooked Crossley Street for the Spring / Summer launch of Madam Virtue & Co. couture collection.

It's not yet Spring in Australia, but that hasn't stopped MSFW (Melbourne Spring Fashion Week) getting into full swing as of today, nor did it stop Melbourne's fashion scene soaking up the ambiance of venue fortyfivedownstairs at last night's Melbourne Spring Fashion Week launch party.

While some of Melbourne's fashion set, yours truly included, shall spend this evening kicking back and avoiding the season chill, all the while celebrating the official launch of MSFW (Melbourne Spring Fashion Week), the same can't be said for Giang Cao. You see, Giang is one of the rising stars of the Melbourne fashion bloging scene and as the keen eye behind Through The Looking Glass he will, instead, spend tonight plying his craft. At a simple level you might call that craft street style, but look deeper and you'll see that Giang captures not just still outfits, but the personality behind the looks.

And it is for that very reason that Fashionising.com are excited to announce that Giang will be hitting the streets, parades and parties as our official street style photographer for Melbourne Spring Fashion Week.

One label we're thrilled to be presenting at this year's High Fashion, High Tea - as part of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW) 2009 - is the uber-cool Saint Augustine Academy.
Taking their cues from indie rock'n'roll; with skinny cuts, directional tailoring, and dandyism; their Spring/Summer 2009/2010 womens collection includes ruffle-front blouses, tuxedo-style details and sexy mod minidresses.

Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW) is just around the corner - and as well as our very own High Fashion, High Tea, there are a number of other events we're very much looking forward to attending.
We love the concept behind the upcoming Eco Luxe Fashion Exposé (ELFE). Promising to prove that eco fashion is about more than "unshaven armpits and potato sacks", ELFE will bring breathtaking sustainable fashion to the runway. But ticket bearers will not just be treated to a parade: to earn its title of "exposé", ELFE will also include market stalls, display lounges, and live entertainment. We also have a double pass to the event to give away to a lucky reader!

Few can make a minidress as sharp, strong, and sexy as can Nicola Finetti. Finetti's Spring/Summer 2009/2010 collection parade at this year's RAFW served to further cement his place as an apple of the Australian fashion world's eye; his gorgeous minidresses eclipsed only by some floor-length gowns with intricate ruffle detailing. As well as the photo coverage from the show, you can now also view a video of the parade below.

The MSFW (Melbourne Spring Fashion Week) program has launched; and tickets to 2009's High Fashion, High Tea are selling fast. Earlier in the week we revealed Joolz pandora bracelets to be one of this year's gift bag goodies. We're also excited to reveal that guests will be treated to a luxury mini-makeup set from BareMinerals; a makeup line completely formulated with crushed minerals from the earth, making it supple, natural, and preservative-free.
We're thrilled to be able to bring you a brand as strong and unique as BareMinerals, who work hard to set themselves apart by avoiding the usual long lists of weird-sounding chemicals and sticking instead to the natural goodness of mother earth. If you've never tried BareMinerals foundation before, now's your chance - we're sure you'll love it as much as we do.
