A Day in the Life

Hi, im Monique. Im new to the forum but just thought Id share my bad day with all the aspiring stylist.

Today I was suppose to meet with a client at a consignment shop. She hired me to do a complete wardrobe renovation and my first steps to doing a renovation is going through the wardrobe, picking out pieces you love and want to keep, then selling everything else in a consignment shop. This project isnt cheap either, im getting paid in the upward thousands to do it plus I get a percentage of the sells so you would think she would be serious about it and be professional. Not the case at all though.

For one, she was suppose to arrange for a car or SUV to come to my house and carry the poo load of clothes because they obviously would'nt be able to fit in the car I was driving. So we, me and my assistant Veronica, wait...and wait...and wait. We waited for damn near 30 minutes after being told repeadeatly that the car was on its way. It wasnt until about 30 minutes after our first call that we found out that the there was some mix up with the arrangements and that there would be know car to help. So that forced me and Veronica to have to drive in two different cars to be able to carry all the clothes that would fit. So we deal with that drama and get to the consignment shop, where my client was suppose to meet us. Guess what, shes not there. She got there 30 minutes late, actually an hour since we were suppose to be there 30 minutes previous to our arrival.

Secondly, the consignment shop was a piece of poo. I have a consignment shop that I have a good relationship with and I know that they are good, classy, and professional but she decided that she wanted to find one herself. Her consingment shop wasnt even like...they sold everything. They sold electronics, clothes, wigs, everything. It was more like a pawn shop then a womens consignment shop.

Thirdly, the consignee was trying to pull some bull and charge us for holding the item in his store, along with keeping a nonsense percentage of the sales. Im not dummy, I know how a classy and professional consignment shop does business, the one I usually associate myself with yet the client wanted to use this one and was siding with them about the money and percentages and what not. Not only that, but she was acting like a total bitch to me the entire time. And this woman is a nobody, I dont even know why she needs a stylist.

Mind you that all this stuff she pulled is against our contract. The transportation issue and the consignment shop. It all goes against our contract. So I left. Veronica and I left, leaving all the clothes there for her to find a way to get them back home. And I better recieve a check within 30 days or im taking her to court for breech of contract.

no you dont but when you act like a huge bitch and diva while working with an established stylist while paying thousands of dollars a day for it you should at least have a career, which she does.t

and what im saying is that im getting paid to do a job yet she wasnt allowing me to do the job nor was she keeping up her end of the deal. She went against a written and legal binding contract and defide my work by not allowing me to do my job properly and wasnt taking my reccomendations. i think im allowed to be angry about that.

Indeed you are allowed. It is your job, you have more than the right to leave/ be angry after this happening to you.
