Victorias Secret supermodel Adriana Lima gives birth to a baby girl
Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima is ecstatic after giving birth to her first child.
The 28-year-old beauty and her Serbian basketball player husband Marko Jaric, 31, welcomed baby Valentina Lima Jaric in a New York hospital on Sunday.
A representative for the couple said: Adriana and Marko are thrilled to announce they had a baby girl, Valentina Lima Jaric. Mother, father and baby are all doing well.
Valentina is a popular Latin name which means healthy and strong and was also chosen by Mexican actress Salma Hayek for her daughter two years ago.
Adriana fell pregnant within weeks of marrying Marko in a small ceremony in Wyoming on Valentines Day.
Earlier this summer, the model spoke of their family plans: I never saw myself being married and having a child. Not because I did not want to. But its tough to find somebody.
(But after meeting Marko) everything changed. I knew he was the one and I could see myself married with him and with a big family.
We are so excited. We wanted this. We were ready. My mom is doing everything and getting things ready.
Adriana has been a beauty queen in her South American homeland since she was a schoolgirl.
At the age of 15, she finished first place in Fords Supermodel of Brazil competition.
She took second place the following year in the Ford Supermodel of the World contest before signing with Elite Model Management in New York City.
She is the second highest paid underwear model in the world thanks to her mega bucks contract with Victorias Secret, coming behind fellow VS model Heidi Klum.
She was the fourth highest earning supermodel this year, making ?4.75million.
Adrianas birth comes just two weeks after close friend and fellow Victorias Secret model Karolina Kurkova had a baby boy.

I don't know why, but I do not like her that much. I truly admire her body and her discipline to stay that way, but to me she has kind of an aura of dumbness. I don't know why but every time I look at her she seems completely shallow for me. Is that weird?
