Alien Invasion!

Posted: 28.10.2007 at 01.23
Was doing my normal local saturday walk down chapel street yesterday to only see so much generic clothing and dressed people there were. I saw more muscles than the terminator himself. It looked like a mothership had landed and an invasion of muscles, fluro and spray on tans had hit melbourne. I was more shocked at how much of the stock in the shops is so alike. But i was more suprised at how many of these "aliens" were not so much shopping or dinning along the strip but how many just parade up and down the side walk waiting to be discovered. Is it just me or when u look like everyone else u tend to blend in rather than stand out.
Melbourne needs some serious help.

Ahh good to see someone else feeling jaded about Melbourne :) I noticed that since I came back from overseas earlier in the year. I'll admit, I'm the last person in the world when it comes to setting a trend (that doesn't mean I'm all muscles in fluro :P) but seeing everyone wearing the same tripe and following the same "style" made me really sad about Melbourne.

Guess nowadays, they're no longer allowed to do Chapel street laps in their cars so they do it on foot.

If i didn't work on the corner of chapel + commercial... i would never come near this place. I feel my stomach churn when i look down on the street.

Everyone always looks like they have a mouth full of sour warheads, with serious cat bum faces and sneering at all the people wearing the same shirt as them. I mean if it pisses you off - stop shopping @ cotton on! Is it that hard?

and since when did looking like a bright orange come into fashion? they even go as far as getting the deep wrinkled skin just to get the supple texture of an orange just right!

Ohh and has everyone seen the new ANZ add with the father doing the christmas shopping and going into a shop like general pants to buy a gift for his kid... The shop assistant is the epitome of chapel street staff - 14, clueless and off his face. I laughed so hard when i saw that add!

Orange tan, orange top - just need to dye the hair green and they'll be oompa loompas

Oh pale white, fake tan and red-i-sat-in-the-sun-too-long-lobster. Sounds like a winner to me. Sort of along the same line as chemicle peel tangerine?
