Is anyone else addicted to clothing alterations?

I just can't scratch the itch with this one. I keep going through my wardrobe, finding pieces I'm no longer wearing, and having them altered. Sleeve lengths, waists, shoulders, everything. I'm on a quest for the perfect cut.

Does anyone else do this to their ready-to-wear pieces?

I do that but I tend to alter them myself :) It can really bring new life into pieces of clothing!

Ah, the perfect cut... much like the Holy Grail...

Somethings i alter myself, other things i just dont have the time or energy for i take to a fabulous little man who is quite cheap. Im always getting things pinched in or sleeves taken off. it makes the pieces more personal and for that i think there is no need to stop the itching daniel.

ohhh i cant sew, and am too lazy to find a good alterations person in brisbane. although i do need to get my cream silk vintage dress i brought last week off ebay taken in and i also want to change the buttons on my vintage winter coat to make it a bit cooler... i was thinking black and gold hearts or soemthing without it look tacky... a bit Zimmerman inspired?

Being someone of petite persuasion I've learnt how to take things up as a necessity ;)

I also sew my own costumes for my shows and I love making little gloves and accessories.

I did it again. Three suit jackets off to be altered - two to be cut in and a third just to have the sleeves shortened. By a whole 1 cm.

Its a must! Everybody has their own unique shape and a portion of clothing requires a good fit to look their best.

corrine- there is a woman in queen st called tess who is AMAZING (she alters suits for all the stores in the city) if you want something done really well- she is next to country road... good for big things and tricky bits..
