Another ugly building heading to Spain

I dislike the Guggenheim in Bilbao (design wise), it's just not my idea of architecture.

Mind you, it isn't as bad as Melbourne's Federation Square, which is a scar on the face of the city (one of many scars);

But this takes the buscuit in the ugly, modern architecture category. It's Frank Gehry's latest creation, and is actually the Hotel Marqus De Riscal. It's being built (has been?) in the Rioja wine region of Spain. And it's ugly.

That is the ugliest design ever :S I may be biased because I'm not much into modern architecture, but it just looks a mess.

The simpsons did an episode where they had Frank Gehry designed and Orchestra Hall which becames a prison, though I think putting someone in one of his building is cruel and unusual punishment.

Frank Gehry's house

The prision

It's sad but it actually looks like his real designs.

LOL, that's pretty funny Allan. :D I've never seen that episode! You're right though - it looks scarily accurate.

Not to my personal taste - but you've got to love controversial design.
