Well everyone is going to hate me (or hate me more, which ever way you look at it) but unlike most of you i am a Kevin Rudd supported and i am quite happy to show that. Yes you all have your opinions and i am entitled to mine, thankyou very much.

I'm doing that too!
Rudd's victory demonstrates that Australian's are suckers for 'pop' political campaigns ... shame Australia, shame!

Hadn't thought of it as 'pop' before. This election amazes me for a number of reasons;
* A complete failing of the fourth estate to properly scrutinise all candidates.
* Lack of policies - take for instance the Greens asking people to vote for them so they could set a new record of 'more than a million votes'. In return the people would get a warm, fuzzy feeling from knowing they helped set a new record.
* Lack of new policies - can you imagine voting for a party in a serious election that simply said 'me too'?
* The willingness of people to vote for celebrity candidates in their seats, despite the fact that the candidate had never lived in, or even visited, the seat before.

i hate how Rudd was more focused on winning over the people who really dont care about politics by going on rove and fox fm, having myspace etc. he thought by agreeing with Howard and pretty much ignoring the interested, educated, if i may so, majority he would win over both sides. his strategy worked obviously, it didn't even come as a surprise, but i was under the impression that we should vote for the best policies, in the interest of our economy, rather then who wears the nicest tie or who can win 20 buks in 20 seconds. Rudd is a highly intelligent man, and honestly im a fan, but i also understand that were not voting for Rudd were voting for labor, i wish more people realized it wasn't Rudd vs Howard but rather labor vs liberal, but oh well its all done now,
we shall now brace ourselves for whats ahead
up side, ill probably get heaps of days off school next year, with all the teachers going strike crazy
steph- nobody will hate you for expressing your opinion, especially when it comes to politics, and you are very much entitled to it, i would however like to know why you are a supporter.. just out of interest?

A semi-promising sign for the Liberals - Peter Costello has announced that he will not be contesting the leadership of the party, and that after the 2010/2011 election is likely to retire from politics.

Well thankyou Kaz :)
Well firstly I believe that our environment is very important and signing Kyoto should have been done a long time ago. Yes, signing that wont change alot but I think that having a government that acknowledges that something should be done will help. I don't believe that our troops should be in Iraq. Yes we are giving America our support and if we ever come into conflict then we can count on them for support too but I just think it is wrong. Where are these 'Weapons of Mass Destruction' anyway? It's not as though I don't like John Howard at all. He has kept our economy up and running and we are not in the middle of a civil war. He wouldn't have been PM for over 11 years if he had done badly. I just don't agree with all of his decision and I think that Kevin Rudd will offer something new to our country that we could really use.
