use an oil free cleanser and moisturiser. I had sever acne growing up (i looked like a meatlovers pizza!) and spent plenty of time, money and tears on trying to sort out the mess my skin was! Clearasil never worked for me- if you have serious skin problems see a dermatologist otherwise- keep oil off your skin, keep your skin clean and moisturised (very important), dont pick at it, keep your fringe and fingers off your face (they both increase the production of skin oils- and your hair transfers oils to your skin) and drink lots of water.

It depends on your skin type? Do you have normal, combination, oily, dry or sensitive skin?

And usually medication is a final option if all else fails, since it can have some really bad side effects.

Oooh wot are the side effects Allan??

Try toothpaste on the spot before u go to bed...

Also, be careful cos sometimes if ur using a new product then ur skin is just adjusting...I am no scientific beautician or anything but I notice that when I buy a new product (usually expensive) I use it for about 3 to 4 wks, notice my skin is breaking out & then stop using it...but sometimes I think if I were to continue using it for another wk perhaps then my skin would clear. But then I always end up using it for a body wash or hand exfoliator instead.

Be sure to remove all traces of make up when u work out too. I find it hilarious when I see girls with foundation on while exercising...

Also monitor when it is occuring, as it could be due to ur cycle...which u can see an iridoligist (think thats how its spelt) or specialist & they can help too. I hve been meaning to do this for ages... My asian friend, who happens to be a very inteligent woman, says that women are not meant to have any problems associated with their cycle...they should have no side effects. It is the western world that has slowly created them. So possibly get things back in balance.

And don't stress...

When I concentrate on my breathing my face clears & often looks radiant. So maybe try 10 minutes in the morning of just breathing slowly & 10 at night. Sounds stupid *american accent* but can work wonders!!!

Roaccutane:

The mild ones.
-dryness of the lips, mouth, nose, eyes and skin.
-nosebleeds
-tenderness or stiffness in your bones, joints or muscles
-peeling palms of the hands and soles of the feet
-tiredness
-headache
-an increased susceptibility to sunburn
-eye problems
-hair loss (sometimes occurs and is usually temporary but in rare cases, has persisted)

the dangerous ones
-nausea
-vomiting
-persistent headache
-blurred vision or visual disturbances
-thinking, seeing or hearing things that are not real
-feeling depressed, with or without suicidal thoughts

Also your cholesterol will rise you will need monthly blood tests, and you will have fuck all energy.
Oh and if you're pregnant it can/probably will stuff up the genes of the foetus so taking it is a big no no.

Quoted from the info sheet
If you are pregnant, or for at least one month before you plan to fall pregnant. If you fall pregnant while taking ROACCUTANE there is an extremely high risk of having a baby that is severely deformed. You must use effective contraception for one month before, during and one month after
treatment

Though don't get me wrong I think Roaccutane is the best drug ever, though if you do take it you have to be *very careful*

If you want the full information sheet its available here.

Yes but it works wonders on Acne, what it does is incredible but it is a drug of last resorts, and you have to go to a dermatologist to have it prescribed.

hmm depends... have you been using or eating different lately?
if not it could just be hormonal in which case use a botanical based brand such as REN for combination skin. This has salicilin in it and this combined with the other ingredients will help normalise sebum production and help to purify the skin.

i went on roaccutaine.. and i will tell u it is the worst thing ever- cleared the skin up amazingly though. unless you have severe acne stay away. try everything else first. while on it you cant go in the sun, wax, your hair falls out, you get depressed, blood test every month or 2, you skin is so dry you need to moisturise all the time, it cracks and goes scaly at times too, you get cut reallllly easy. see a dermatologist (a good one) and they will give you advice but roaccutaine is always a last resort.
