Hey guys, I need your opinions;
Burberry short Trench coat: hot or not?
I really want one but am not sure whether its worth it or not? I have been looking on ebay but am quite confused with sizes as there is one on there marked as a medium but they are saying that it will firt true petite size 6?
Would it be a real one? I really dont want a fake one... some things you really want to be able to say are real (no matter how good of fakes you have) Sometimes you just really want the stigma that is attached to the item! Right?
Any help you could offer me asap would be absolutly fantastic!!!

Definitely hot, and definitely this season!
When look on eBay, make sure none are labelled Burberry's. Burberry used to be called Burberry's, so vintage ones would correctly state that but in my experience most of the trench coats which tout Burberry's are fakes.
Per the sizing, ask them for precise measurements, particularly armpit to armpit and the measure it against a coat you have that you like the fit of :)

Burberry's name has been smeared somewhat by fakes - but I wouldn't let that be a deterrent given trench coats are such a classic item... And since Burberry invented the trench (back in WW1) you can't get much more classic than that! :)

Here are some ideas for you (these photos will probably disappear pretty soon, so it might be worth saving them).
This is from a fake:
Whoever faked it doesn't understand the English language, whereas Burberry do. If you're confused, they have the apostrophe in the wrong place.
This check/tartan is a terrible fake. They also don't know their grammar.
I believe these are the only labels that their trenchs are currently carrying:
Also look at things like the buttons, as they are often embossed with Burberry when genuine.

thoughts and opinions would be massively appreciated!
(as you can tell I am incredibly nervous when it comes to splashing out large amounts of money on 'online purchases' I am alot less timid when I am actually in store... dangerous in fact! lol)

For a classic high end piece such as the Burberry trench I would buy retail or from a reputable online store. Unfortunately, you can never be 100% certain of the authenticity of designer items on eBay.

I agree with KiKi, if you're going to go for it, go for it at the store.
I bought a "Gucci" belt on ebay once from a reputable seller in "England" and the belt shipped from Turkey...it came with an authenticity card but it was not "Gucci", I had my money back in 24hours and will never buy designer on ebay again.
I went straight to the Gucci store and bought the belt and to this day 2 years later it is still one of my favourites.

Kiki and Seth both make excellent points - of course price saving has to also be factored in so it becomes a personal thing. I personally buy a lot of Paul Smith off of eBay, because it's so hard to buy in Australia at retail (it's hardly stocked, and it certainly isn't the best pieces that are stocked).
One of the auctions has already ended up I'm afraid, but looking at the second one (the longer trench) it does seem to be authentic. Thethings which might indicate that it isn't is the sizing (but the Burberry might make do Asian sizing, given it's such a big part of their market).

I have decided to scrap the idea for a little while... I might try and save the pennies and go into the store... thankyou so much though! :)
