So what do you do and use to create a flawless base? How do you tend to match foundation colours, conceal or correct?

My own magic touch is mixing in a little bit of illuminizer with the foundation and I always match my foundation to the skin on the face or if there is a massive colour difference I try to find a median between the colour of the chest/neck and the face. But I can always warm the skin up with bronzer afterwards. What I want to know is how you get a really flawless application with your brushes/sponge or even fingers??

I use two seperate foundations - the main bulk is Rimmel Recover foundation in 100 ivory, and mix it with a little Revlon Colourstay in 320 True beige to match my tone (yay for asian/spanish/caucasian skin that makes no sense). Works perfectly! The illuminating particles in Recover gives that beautiful, fresh glow and when combined with the Colourstay, looks very natural and has that little extra staying power.
I can also highlight very easily if I dab a little extra of the Ivory onto my fingers and lightly blend it in where needed. Works a treat!
I've been using my fingers lately because they are very er...liquidy...and it's just wasting if I use a brush. Any other foundation I brush over first, and then smooth and blend with my fingertips.
Never used a sponge. I think it's wasteful. And I'm a poor girl. I've only been getting an average of 3 hours of work a week!
