I've been hearing lately that the hippie/boho craze is over, yet I am still seeing it everywhere. What do you all think of this look? I honestly still love it, I still love the gypsy skirts. I have always really liked the hippie look. Sorry for not putting pics, I haven't figured out how to do it yet.

Thanks,

Sarah

Hmmm, I'm really not one for this look, I think its being replaced by the whole faux punk thing.

As for putting in images the best way is to use the Imageshack to host your images and then pasting the url of the image in here highlighting the url and clicking the img button which is just above this box :)

Yeah I'm not much of a fan but probably because it was just wayyy too overdone for a period and put me off completely. I think it's more personal taste than anything though; I like more structured, less hrrm cotton with lots of random holes and lace clothes. =P Do show us pics if you like though and perhaps you can change my mind. =)

I think i'd have to agree that the whole boho thing did get a bit too much which is why a lot of people are put off it. That said, when I was wondering around Portobello Rd last week there were still plenty of outfits about that had the boho edge and lots of them looked really cool. They were more individual and less manufactured though, which I think may be the difference. Lots of vintage - e.g. vintage dresses with tights and vintage boots, lots of funky jewellery, cute shirts with jeans, etc.

But as for the mainstream, it appears to have moved more to tailored and structured looks. Though lace, broderie and crochet will still be big come summer, it will be in a softer, more feminine way IMO... :)

I only know that I cringe everytime i see tiered skirt or a pesant blouse with those flared hems!! But i guess its all about interpretation, I mean look at Anna Sui she has been doing BOho nonstop for the last 10 yrs and every season she has a refreshing new take on it, I love her version of Boho but the cliched is sooo out!!
