Doesn't look quite right, does it?

Who can afford the actual price of an Aston Martin Vanquish S? Not us, and apparently not Australian fitness instructor Michael Lebedev, who has produced a kit that transforms a garden variety Mazda Miata MX-5 into something resembling a Vanquish left in the dryer too long. Inspired by the Vanquish driven by secret agent James Bond in the film Die Another Day, Lebedev produced what appears to be a front end kit out of fiberglass using headlamps from a SMART car. He has started a company called Custom Automotive Restyling to sell his kit, which retails for AUS $7,500, or about USD $5,650.

Right... I think I'd take the Aston Martin any day! You can see the similarities but... somehow it just doesn't cut it!!

It's really odd to look at. I can see the Aston Martin in there and as a result I feel I should like it, but it just doesn't cut it. It just can't compare;

Or another reason why an actual Aston Martin is just a tad more impressive;

After a driver team led by Dr. Ulrich Bez drove a production-standard V8 Vantage to a top-25 finish at this year's Nurburgring 24 Hours, Aston Martin engineers kicked off another demonstration of the Vantage's endurance.

To commemorate the milestone of 30,000 cars produced, Aston Martin staffers were invited to spend a day in Germany, where day and night, the car would be driven on the Autobahn and local roads with the goal of accumulating 30,000 miles in 30 days. Providing support to the effort was Aston's new German dealership, Moll Sportwagen.

True to the form shown by the Nurburgring Vantage, the Project 30,000 car accomplished its mission. Now signed by every employee who took part in the 30-day thrashing, it is on display with the Nurburgring car at the British Motor Show.

Ugh, be happy with what you have, trying to make your Miata into an aston just makes you look bad. Anyway I kinda like MX-5 as a sporty little run about :)

One of the weird things about turning a Mazda MX-5 into an Aston Martin, is that the MX-5 is closely styled after the BMW Z series (in this case the Z4). That would be a much more natural kid conversion.

Definately, but also you'd still look tacky. I just figure MX-5 is just a nice little car on its own.

Have you noticed the fact that the mx5 has not changed much since early 80s. Its a small sporty looking car that has nothing much going for it besides a nice convertible look. Dont get me wrong its not a bad car (however mechanically its far from where it should be). I think you cant compare an Aston Martin and a Mazda no matter how you look at it. but i agree with Allan "MX-5 is just a nice little car on its own".

Too true Vadim, I'm not to sure about the varicity of this but someone told me that the Jeep Cherokee has had the same engine for like the last 40 years or something.

I'm not sure you would look tacky.

One of the cheaper collector cars is the Ferrari 250 GTO;

A cheap Ferrari you say? Well that's because most on the market are actually Datsuns, well specificall the Datsun Z-car which in modern incarnations is the Nissan 350 Z.
