Posted: 28.07.2009 at 11.18
Hi there,
I found vintage Chanel Jumbo XL for a good price, but I need an authentication. The seller claims it is 1000% genuine, but I am in doubts. How can I tell it´s fake? Feel free to post Your honest opinions;)
Thanks

I'd suggest it's a fake based on the poor cut of the flap. It sits without accurate proportions.

exactly what i was going to say. also... if it seems too good to be true, it usually is.

where are you located? i'm in melbourne and i get all my chanel from madam virtue on crossley street.

I am from Danmark and unfortunately the only place where I can get Chanel from is...Chanel shop. That's why I was googling for any online stores with much more affordable prices. I found that bag on ebay, the price is 800USD (quite cheap for jumbo), but on the other hand I don't want to pay so much for good replica.

If you want one, either pay the full whack at a Chanel store, or find a very, very reputable second hand clothier (the sort that you find in London). Aside from those two, I can only see you risking some serious money on good fakes not worth more than $50.

id say its real but out of shape. the stitching is symmetrical and it meets right at the corners

the fake ones dont even bother aligning the stitching properly

its hard to tell cos it doesnt sit upright properly in the photo

but get a new one from the store.. lol

I tend to agree with Daniel's analysis about the flap. Why isn't it straight? And the quilting seems unbalanced.
However as GODandShopping said it could also be real but a bit out of shape due to frequent use.

I would think the hardware would show more signs of use had it been that used that the leather had gone out of whack?

Trully speaking, the hardware for me it's just too shiny and polished and the colour is scaring me- yellow gold.I would better start saving for the real one from the Chanel store...Goddamnit:)
