u do realise ch 9, 7 and 10 are all owned by people very attached to certain political parties. I have studied this stuff at uni, we have watched the differance on how each channel reports a certain event. ABC is the least politically attached channel (other then SBS). They have no connection to one party but have been known to take sides on certain topics.

Its a song dude, take it as a joke cause thats exactly what it is. True if it was directly after her death then even i would be going "wow to soon guys back up". But it was years ago now, i didnt see any problem with it. Im even a fan of what diana did in her time yet didnt offend me.

Yes it's a song. And yes it happened years ago now. So did the Holocaust. Care to step up to the plate and say we can mock the torture and death of a six million people?

Actually I'll back down from my statement, well the second part. It didn't happen a long time ago. Stan Zemanek died this year, Steve Irwin last year, and Kerry Packer in 2005. Bet their families are still in stitches for the laughter it can only have caused them. People who have died from cancer or have been shot dead are such hilarious topics. Along with miscarriages.

Yes I do realise that all media is biased. I also realise that I don't pay any of my tax dollars to Channels 7, 9, and 10. I do, however, pay money for the tripe commonly known as the ABC and SBS.

It would be amazing to see how 'least politically attached' is actually graded. Do they take into the consideration the former jobs or those whom work there, such as Kerry Obrien having worked for Gough Whitlam? Or do they consider Phillip Adams raising money for the ALP (something the ABC charter actually indicates he should have been sacked for)? Maxine McKew's admission that her work at the ABC was biased towards the ALP? Certainly sounds like a fair and balanced network to me.

Yeesh. This is why I don't bother watching TV anymore - well the tripe that's being broadcasted in Australia.

Awesome retort from PM John Howard today, when they tried ambushing him for another element of their show;

Three members of the Chaser crew, dressed as white rabbits, confronted the Prime Minister early today at McMahons Point in Sydney.

"We know you need to pull a rabbit out of your hat, so here's a few," one of the Chaser team said.

An obviously unimpressed Mr Howard said: "You blokes are a lot funnier when you pick on someone who's alive."

good come back :)

look i agree, they took it a bit far, but how are we to know where the limits are if nobody pushes them :) chasers are pushing the boundaries big time, but someone has to do it ....

Well the limits are defined by a society and its culture. It's one thing to push boundaries, that's what black comedy is for, but it's another to act with a complete disregard for a mourning person's feelings. Having got away with everything so far these guys are showing a complete manner of arrogance.

i completly agree... you do not mock death... a person in the spotlight is still human, they still have family who are human and are definitly not going to find the mockery amusing.

what a great come back from Johnny... probably the only time he made everyone laugh country wide in agreement! good on him... see - even he is human too!

Julian Morrow of the Chaser suspected his latest âjokeâ would distress a widow, and rang to warn her:

Shock jock Zemanek, who lost a year-long battle against cancer, was described in âThe Eulogy Songâ as âa racist jock, a fatso xenophobic cock, whose views were more malignant than his brainâ.

Mrs Zemanek said the Chaserâs producer Julian Morrow phoned her earlier in the week to warn her about the song, which aired on Wednesday night.

That phone call left her waking up at four oâclock in the morning in a panic and âscared to death about what they were going to say about Stan,â she said.

By the end of his call, Morrow would have had no doubt that the widow would indeed be distraught - to say the least - about his song. Yet he went ahead and had it performed.

It takes a special sort of person to do that.
