It seems that classic red is being worn boldly by bombshell starlets, leaving behind nudes and naturals. Classic red is duller than fire engine, but lighter than deep red (such as reds with purples or plumb through them). Gwen Stefani who is known for her fire engine red lipstick trend has opted for a slightly deeper red with less orange undertones, along with Christina Aguilera who wears classic red with a ruby base.
Red lips work best with simple eye-makeup (for example, a bit of eyeliner and lashings of mascara), and look fantastic when teamed with classic hairstyles.

so this was taken at the end of the night when my makeup was very far from fresh, however the lipstick was the key to the makeup for me, i had a bit of smokey eyes going on, but nothing to extreme. had this picture been taken at the beginning of the night the red i chose was much more "blood" red, much brighter, then i toned it down with a bit of lipgloss
Kaz, I think it suits you because of your dark eyes and hair! My main problem is with putting it on neatly, it's so much more obvious when you make a mistake.
