What says we fashionisers on the plan to shut Swantston Street to everything except feet, trams, and bikes?

I'm all for a plan that does such a thing, but forgive my ignorance: how is it costing $25 million? All I see are some post-modern lights and just as much concrete. Would something nice to look at be impossible to ask for?

I say the ditch the lights and save at least 10 million I guess.

Not only can they ditch them and save cash, they can save us from an eye-sore.
