Do you get to give any? I find that with doing the work that pays my bills, I am being starved of a creative outlet.

With the corporate work I find my self working with minders. The minders being their so called creative division or their PR people to make sure that you are shooting their staff along the guide lines of their preferred perception of the company.

Then there's the editorial creative team that have their guide lines.

The advertising creative that have their way or no way.

Events promoters want that magic shot of the presentation, regardless of the vibe of the time.

Are you thrust upon or do you thrust?

Pete

Yeah money seems to be inversely proportional to creative imput. Though I think to a large degree that is because at a low to mid level shooting you are there to produce someone else's vision, it seems to be the guys that are shooting at a high level that are employed for theirs. I get the impression that editorial submissions are the way to bridge the gap, where you are able to show in a professional light your own creative talent and vision.

Oh tell me about it!!
Truth be told... I hate clients, to most of them I just want to say 'I don't tell you your job so f**k off and let me do mine'
Life does seem to be full of shoots that either pay or let you fly (creativly).
I don't mind being part of someone else's vision, or trying to match up to a creative brief, but most clients (at least in the business realm) have no idea or imagination, they just want to copy elements of other peoples work.

Here endeth the rant (I feel better now)
