Someone told me yesterday that the likes of Zoo and FHM seldom pay their models. Does anyone know if there's any truth to that?
They only pay if the photo's are 'featured' in the magazine. More often it's the photographer that gets the cash instead of the model.
ive heard the only way they get paid is when the photographer for the magazine takes the pics. if a model or 'tog submit pictures on their own they get sweet fuck all.
i have heard of one girl opening FHM to see her pic in there ( that she did'nt submit )
so she sent FHM an invoice... never found out the final result though, sorry :(

They typically dont pay unless they solicit you for the feature articles such as "Hot Uni Girls of UNSW" or something like that. A photographer might pay a model when taking a picture for the intention of submitting to these magazines but usually you work for little more than the 'chance' of being published.
Even if you do get solicited the pay (in my opinion) is not worth the light in which they paint you. Its no more than a couple of hundred dollars. Losing control of my image is not worth it for that.
