Does anyone else love P.G. Wodehouse & Oscar Wilde? I love them both!
A couple of my favourite P. G. Wodehouse quotes:
"There is no doubt that Jeeves's pick-me-up will produce immediate results in anything short of an Egyptian mummy." The Inimitable Jeeves (1923)
"There came from without the hoof-beats of a galloping relative and Aunt Dahlia whizzed in." The Code of the Woosters (1938) (that one reminds me of some of my 'lations)
And some of my fave Oscar Wilde's:
"We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars."
"There is no sin except stupidity."
"The one charm about marriage is that it makes a life of deception absolutely necessary for both parties."
I love P.G. Wodehouse did you ever see the series they did of it with Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie? It's absolutely fantastic!
I can't remember the quote in it's entirety but it ran along the following lines;
"Sending telegram as couldn't possibly hit you with brick from such a distance"
LOL no I haven't seen it - but I will seek it out straight away. What perfect casting that sounds! Any idea where I'd find it? I'll look on the BBC website I guess...?
