Yeah.....no we dont have air con! its like 36 inside on a hot day in stockings is not really plesant! lol I have been managing but i dont know how much longer I can cope!
I envy girls on hot days for skirt reasons. As a boy you can't get away with shorts in Australia, but as a girl if you've got the legs a skirt is always an option.
my office is always freezing, so i always have stockings and a cardigan... i recently bought a whole lot of stockings with a backseam- love them! i do think they need some clear guidelines for some of the other people tho!

I feel v sorry for all the suits that come into my office during summer... Especially having to wear ties as well. Oh & especially this one guy in my office who is HAIRY scary under there (they poke out the neckline & his hands are like taranchula's) poor bugger has to deal with two coats! Hah. But warm in winter.
i think it really depends on what industry you work in. I also believe that the owner, manager whoever makes the decisions should write a clear outline so it makes sense and is even and fair. For me I cant imagine having to wear stockings and be all formally done up day in and day out for my line of work... it would drive me insane I think as it wouldnt express who I am at all and that is a large part of what I do.
I like being able to wear a skirt, and I agree with others that you should always wear stockings, but ive worked places where its mandatory and on a 40 degree day wearing stockings is so uncomfortable!
Dress codes serve a purpose, you aren't there to model (unless that's your job) you're there to work. But the bit about looking professional not fashionable was disgraceful- don't they relize how many times people go into places to look at the cute teller, the hot cashier, ect? Plus, people preform better when they feel like they look their best.
