I'm not sure how relevant this is... but have any of you ever set up an online store? I am hoping to launch one soon but have no idea what sort of ecommerce platforms and such are easiest to work with?

I would definitely recommend not doing this yourself if you only have basic HTML knowledge. I consult for some online stores, and believe me when I say it's an immensely complex thing to get right.
