Expensive lingerie needed to have good sex?

From Fashionista:

Our favorite Project Runway moment came two seasons ago, when Santino Rice's lingerie got slammed by Michael Kors. "I think it's not very sophisticated," said the designer. "I think lingerie's supposed to come off, is what I think!" shrieked Santino.

But that's part of the problem.

We know some girls who can't bear to strip in anything but designer bras. There's an entire industry to back them up - Agent Provocateur, Kiki de Montparnasse, Catriona MacKechnie, all with panties that cost more than James Jeans (or, yes, champagne!).

We know a lot of girls who aren't confident at parties unless they have expensive handbags or killer high shoes. But is there also a tribe of women who can't perform in the bedroom unless their lingerie is runway quality?

Personally, we're a big fan of t-shirt bras and tie-dye undies (and sorry if that was an overshare). But there's got to be something sustaining the million-dollar industry of very expensive underthings. Is Agent Provocateur like Viagra for fashion girls?

well god i hope not... what is intimacy and passion in a relationship then? I am confused! Lingere is about meant to be about you feeling good about you and sure your partner enjoying it as your getting dressed in the morning but not about having good sex in a loving relationship.... (well so I remember anyway! lol)

Like you said, I am happiest and feeling sexiest in T shirt bra's and cotton boyshorts from H&M, but I think more so lingerie has a more exclusive market, as one can't really scout vintage options,so the sources are limited!

Very good question. For my personal opinion, most outfits that I wear, I prefer the no clutter look ie. lace and pant lines nor bra straps. As for my husband, sexy lingere is always on his wish list!

i love my t-shirt bras. i really do. they give you seamlessness, no nipples, no lace peeking thru, and they hold the girls in therenicely. but nothing makes a woman feel more sexy and confident then knowing that underneath her jeans and singlet is lingerie which would make you weak at the knees. is it necessary for good sex? the answer is no, and most girls will tell you that its the night your wearing granny undies, that somethign will happen! For good sex you need good physical chemistry, and besides, dont you take the lingerie off anyway???

I just can't imagine a well kept girl with tie dye undies or a t-shirt bra.. I don't think it's like viagra for us girls. Perhaps not for those of us with an IQ above our body temperature anyway. In the words of Santino essentially "it's supposed to come off". But it can be so much more intimate when it's sexy & sophisticated.

lingure is something that you can you to "spice up" your sex life and encourage pro-longed foreplay. but hey let face it. bad sex is bad sex, not even a gold g-banger spitting champane and million dollar notes out is going to change that. mind you i could use the money and go shopping.... hmmmm....

I believe expensive lingerie is not needed for good sex. Some nice lingerie can still be cheap. And sex life is not really to do with what you wear because it comes off like people have already mentioned...unless it's a person's fetish to have certain type of clothes on during sex
