I dispise fake designer branded products. I think if you're going to own a designer brand, make sure its authentic.

Fake items, especially when its produced in mass, degrade the real designer brand itself.

i say no to fakes, i just don't understand people who buy them.
if you can't afford, settle to another cheaper brand. and i think that something should be done to all these websites that sell fake designer bags. though the might look authentinc, they are not!

its just very unfair on the designer... they work hard and get ripped of. it is also unfair to the buyers of the product an example being, my mum bought a luis vuitton bag about 4 months before the craze started, and i bought a luis vuitton skirt.. i ended up giving my skirt away and my mum doesnt take her bag anywehre anymore as it just looks like we bought it from some trashy market. it really annoys me when i see girls like the one daniel described.. totally geared out in fake designers

I hate fakes they drive me completely insane, but I have to say in most cases you can tell the real thing from a fake just by looking at the rest of the clothes the person is wearing. But I agree with Kaz because even if you can afford the real thing you just don't want it anymore. For Christmas one year my mum bought me some stunning (real) Dior jewelry but I just don't like to wear it because there's that much fake going round and its a shame because my mum isn't made of money and altogether it cost her a fortune!

I despise real fakes. The ones you can spot a mile away. But I have no issue with "cabbage". Designers are aware of "cabbage fakes" and my outlook is that if no one can tell its not a real one, then it may as well be real, which makes it real!

I find fakes amusing. Played out status markers like a Louis Vuitton bag demonstrate a tacky attempted social elevation, like you can claim class or culture through your sunglasses ostentatious logo. Anyone that craves that kind of attention might as well have bought the fake, because its about as sophisticated.

Hijacking your bag with a silk-screened 'fake' is a much more interesting icon.

Fakes are tacky. And not a good tacky. Just bad. I would NEVER buy or use a knock-off. It's pointless. If you buy a knock-off, its because you want people to THINK you have money/status/whatever. Fakes are fakes and I dislike any kind of fake.

Sorry to bring back an old thread but i recently watched a documentary on fakes, in terms of clothes and other things.
And actually, the industry is so big that fakes do work their way into genuine shops in many countries, some are so indecipherable that they are sold in shops as the real thing, without the shops being aware of it.
This was, scarily, also the case for medicine, as in the UK people have been given fake pills and medicine, at Pharmacys! without the people working there knowing.
Its a dangerous, attrocious circle and like all of you i hate it, and it genuinely scares me that fake items can be so realistic that they are sold as the real deal, esp meds and food (fake eggs!). I cant afford Designer as im only 18, but i'd rather wish it could and wait, than buy something fake.
