they are incredibly falttering on every build as they flatten the pelvis stomach area and perk them bum... if worn with heels they then make your thighs look super thin and legs long!
The only problem with the flares Kate has in that last picture on the previous page is that they appear way too long. You can already see that they are fraying and discoloring in the back. This has happened to every pair of flared jeans I've ever owned...and I have extremely long legs (36" inseam is kind of hard to come by..so my pants arent exactly dragging on the ground).
I think that as long as your careful with the length, or pair them with a heel to correct the problem this trend will prove to be much easier to pull off, and a lot more flattering than the skinny jean. Granted, it's not as fun and easy to fit into a "funky" wardrobe.
They remind me of a more fitted version of the "trouser jean" that was popular a few years ago...which I think I still have a few pairs laying around, I'll have to pull them out again.
I have loved going to the thrift store since skinny jeans took over. People have gotten rid of all of their cute flares. Thanks so much for your generosity! Are you sure you won't miss them? Too bad! They're MINE now! Boho chic, hippie chick, and '60's-70's inspired looks are more than just a passing trend for me, they are my identity. I won't look good in anything that isn't just a little bit funky. Flares and bell bottoms are so essential to my wardrobe that even if no-one else was wearing them, I still would.
I have never had much money or time for trend chasing, so I just keep the staple items that help me to express my own individual style.
