What does everyone think of the current geek glasses trend?



It certainly hasn't taken off in Australia to the same degree that it has overseas, but I have to say it's one I'm going to invest in. Nothing rediculous though.

Even Paul Smith is doing it;

I don't really care for this look. It reminds me of the band "Weezer" too much and I've just never really looked up to their 'style'. I don't see much of this in my city (Spokane, WA) but I know it's more popular in bigger metro's and college towns.

I think it can look really good if you don't go over the top with it. It depends a lot on the person - I look like a bit of a librarian ;) in dark, square rimmed glasses... It also depends on how you dress. If you wore them with a great, really well-cut suit to work, the right pair would look really smart!

It's nice in general. People in Greece have gone crazy with it - especially women.

I think that it looks good in men and women up to 28yrs old depending on their status. Wearing these geek glasses reminds me more of a stuent and much more of "I wanna stay a student"...

Sometimes it can be sexy but it cannot be elegant.

aahhhh my area of expertice! as a professional optical dispenser with a fashion conscience i would have to say that YES, geek glasses ARE IN. I even went and organised myself a pair just this week, a turning point for me, as I have always stuck to finer rims.

hehe cheers!!! i wore them out to dinner friday night and they got the approval of my friends ahhhh how high-school is that?! worring if people will accept you in your glasses!
