Hey,
Just letting you all know that there is such a thing as the CheerWorld in Australia. And no, i don't just mean NRL, ditzy (no offence) Cheerleading. I mean competitive cheerleading. The RMIT Redbacks placed 4th Runners-up at the International Down Under Spirit Championships and won the title of overall Grand Champions at USASF Showdown. Auditions for our black squad won't be 'till next year as our team is currently busy working on State Championships next month; but in the meantime, we have open, casual classes on Wednesdays 6-8pm at the Tivoli Arcade on Bourke Street building 108, level 4 (walk past the pool table to the mirrored room). Classes are $5 per session. Each class incorporates warm-up, stretch, cardio, dancing, cheering and jumps.

whats the differance between this and drill dancing?? was dating a girl for abit who did drill dancing for australia. seemed very cheer leader like to me.
no spirit fingers, no sparkly hotpants. Cheerleading is an athletic sport which unfortunately carries a lot of negative connotations in its name.
Our black squad competes at State titles in 4 weeks, if anyone really wants to find out what it's all about it might be an idea to come.
I was a competitive cheerleader in high school, and it is a really good way to get fit fast. The combination of strength training through stunts and stretching for jumps as well as the aerobics of all the dancing makes for a full body workout. I only wish I could get my "cheer" body back.
