Obviously I haven't, but which fashionisers have? I'm after some feedback on hair extensions for an article I'm tinkering with :)

* Thoughts?
* Draw backs?
* Positives?

Had em! Via the bonding system (where the hair is basically 'glued' in sections to your hair. Worked really well, easy to look after, the hair can be reused so it is cheaper than some of the other methods where the hair can only be used once.

I am quite fussy and would go back to the hairdressers every six weeks to get them reattached at the roots so the bonds didnt show.

So overall I would consider the maintenance the biggest drawback.

In terms of thoughts/advice I'd say people need to keep in mind that more is better (dont go for half a head just because it is cheaper) and that longer isnt necessarily more glamorous - keep it to a semi-natural length so you dont end up looking like a demented mermaid.

I haven't had real extensions, I was considering though. Got put off by the initial price to have them done, as well as the maintenance. I also bought some clip in extensions off ebay for like $30. They work well and look great, but because they aren't real human hair I can't do anything very fun with them like colour or perm. They tangle very easily too. I'm just going to keep growing my own hair for now. =)

I've had hair extensions before. the first time I had them they were terrible and looked fake and didn't match my hair at all, plus there were only 2 rows in my very very thick hair. The lady cut it like a mullet so that made it worse. They were microlinks and they were kind of painful for the first few nights - plus if my bf or I slept on them it would pull and hurt so much. I got them out a month later and got better ones put in.
The new lady put the whole lot in - which was about 7 rows. It looked so much more natural and like my own hair- no one could tell. The only problem was that they were stuck in with hair tape which itched sometimes...

Now my hair is super long and I don't need them, but I wouldn't mind having them in again for the thickness.

HTHs!!

I've had and still have hair extensions. Its real human hair so it blends in perfectly.
Mine are clip in which means I can take them out or put them in whenever I like, or when ever I feel like it!
They give a lot of volume and for me, a lot of length as my natural hair is only shoulder length.
I have found the blend best when wavy or curly, and the best color to have them is black as it looks more natural and matches the natural hair easier.
I've had mine for a year now, they are less expensive than glue in and micro ones, but can be tricky to blend in, unless you know what you're doing.

My advice is, if your considering them, go for clip ins. Don't commit without trying. Check out my pics, I've got extensions.

I have a couple of friends who have clip-in hair extensions. They look great on both of them. But one of them said the negatives are:
- they can make your hair itchy
- they can get tangled sometimes if it's windy or humid weather
- when you are dancing in a nightclub or sweaty, then the clips can slide down your head and your hair-extensions are slipping

So if you get them, you may look good but you may still need to maintain your hair by checking in the bathroom every hour or not stay indoors out of the various weather conditions. But if it's for a special one hour indoor event, then it probably would be less high-maintenance required
