Happy Birthday - the Bra turns 100!
i did my first lingerie collection for my fourth year in desgin at university.
there were several students that chose to do lingerie design and unlike my colleagues i chose to create and develop my own blocks from draping multiple muslins and what not while others bought bras and took them apart and used those as blocks...in my opinion deeply questioning their artistic and academic integrity...
anway, there are huge advancements in bra technology and everywhere you see moulded or seamless bras...this is great because they give the breasts a beautiful shape...
but its a shame that there isn't more focus on structural undergarments with seaming detail that could give the same beautiful shape and provide exceptional support.
i'm still trying to decide if i want to stay at work with lingerie and keep learning as much as i can or if i should move back to womenswear....ugh...bras are great but sometimes they are a pain to find a good one.
