Have you noticed that Mary-Jane has had a make over? Once confined to school-girls and church-goers, Mary Jane shoes are now adorning the feet of celebrities, starlets and wild child party animals everywhere.

Kate Bosworth was spotted in a metallic pair of sky-high Mary Janes at the Met Gala ball this year, while Diane Kruger, Mischa Barton and the Olsen Twins are also fans. Patent are definitely big, as are metallics. Some top picks:

Clockwise from left: Barbie Mary-Jane pumps by Theory, Manolo Blahnik Open-Toe Mary Jane Pump, Valentino Peep-Toes, DAVIS by Ruthie Davis Screen Mary Jane Pump, Christian Louboutin Patent Mary-Janes, and Studio Pollini Patent Pumps. Shoes available from Shop Bop, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue.

i think they have been in fashion for quite some time now actually, i hav closed ones and open ones but the open ones make my toes look funny, and you cant wear them in winter ( with stocking) but yess they r cute i think, quite elegant..ish :)

Aww, thanks helen ;) I've seen the Valentinos at Saks or Neiman Marcus.

There's also a suede version:

The suede look particularly lovely. I'm fond of the patent, however, I think they've done their dash.
