islands of course... thailand, singapore, fiji, vanuatu... never on my own though! I just feel like I would have more fun if I had someone else there with me...
If you checking our Fabric markets in China or Hong Kong you wont really have any trouble bringing back swatches. If you intent on bringing back commercial quantities, then you may run into a few customs hicups. I know for footwear they make sure we drill holes in all the outsoles to render them practically useless as commercial items.
My Suggestion is Southern China for Fabrics and prints Jinjiang is a very popular footwear and textiles district and will definately quench your thirst for new fabrics.
Good luck with your trip and let us know how you go.
thanks for the heads up andy. so what is classified as commercial quantities? im just looking at bringing back a couple metres of this and that. definitly grabbing some kicks though the thought of drilling them doesnt sound too pleasing. i guess if i limit myself to an ammount realistic for one person ill be aight. Bring on the HK shopping festival!!
corrine - yeah would be something similar to "lost in translation" traveling alone, then again bill and scarlete did make something of it in the end.
