How can i pull it off?? Help pls

Hello All, so i need some help. I have to go to a semi formal Christmas party. I am wearing a black strapless cocktail dress, and usually i wear black heels, however this year i have had surgery on my foot and am unable to wear heels. Although i have been searching for a pair of black dressy flats, everything i find looks like something my grandma would wear. Someone suggested black ballet slippers. Do you think that would work?? I cant have any type of heel and they have to be completely flat...would that look funny?

Where does the hemline of the dress sit?

I like black ballet slippers, I think they look dressy and even though they are flat it doesn't look grandma.

If you usually wear heels, go for a pointy toed flat (they're blowing up all over stores right now) because it elongates the legs more than a rounded ballet slipper flat.

Best :)

the dress is about 2 inches above the middle of the knee and is not tight fitting, but more flowing. I have seen many pointed toes, but dont know if i can pull it off as i wont be able to "scrunch" my toes (for a lack of a better word). Know where i can get something like that?
