No witty or tongue in cheek headings.
I have to fly out to Sydney tomorrow at 6am, be at a conference by 9, and then I fly back to Melb at 6pm. I have to wear a suit, shirt and tie and wasn't sure of the colour I should go for. I can't take a change with me and I will put the tie on once I land.
I was thinking of going in black because it won't show sweat as much.

Any suggestions or tips?
I'm sticking with high cotton counts, (I'm lazy and the non iron shirts are a blend), and I'm packing a small bottle of cologne.

Thanks

Avoid white. Shows up sweat, and any other nasty little thing that will come into contact with your shirt. Black can do the same of course, but only with lighter coloured stains and has the advantage of being much easier to clean off.

I was thinking of black, but I wasn't sure if there was something in between.
I actually had a black shirt and tie ready, but with the black suit it might look too...grim.

Guess I'm finally a big boy now, flying out for a conference, getting business cards and setting my 'away' message on my email.

Oh mother will be so proud.

Do you have something which a black base but a pattern to it? I keep a black and white Prince of Wales check shirt for business travel.

I've got a black and silver tie striped tie which I may wear, or a black Kenzo tie with a disappearing reappearing paisley pattern.
I've got a black and white shirt (tiny little squares) but it's a finacier style shirt with a white collar and cuffs (and I'm too lazy to iron it)
I think I may go for the CK tie and the black shirt.

Hahaha thanks, but you do realise this post is over a month old?

I forgot what shirt I went for. I did take a bottle of cologne, I made it through the day and must have done something right because I was flirted with a lot.
