nicely put james!.....

ruru - i do admit that the stock shocks on the Zeds are stiff, but get the Bilstein on and its a totally different handling beast....

but the suspension is nicer, the 350z is heavier and the s2000 looks nicer. if im driving a sports car i dont mind a lack of manners, but i do mind my vertabre out of allingment :P

i think im either going to stick with the z4, go a brand new is250 or an old porsche (found a lovely 70's 911)

We still haven't helped Ren pick a car!

What made you decide against the S2000 Ru?

Thats too bad! If the IS350 was an option in Australia, it'd be tempting, but the roadster appeal of the Z4 beats out the vanilla IS250.

what abt the vintage porsche?

The thing you have to remember with most sports cars is the suspension is designed to travel at speed so anything remotely slow will not produce enough force to shift the dampers, thus the shock travels straight up to your spine (120kph may not seem slow but in a good sports car it is). There a very few manufacturers that have achieved the impossible & built a sports car with manners but as a rule. Rag tops are always softer because the lack of roof takes much of the rigidity out of the chassis unless you put in a lot of heavy engineering. I drive an R33 coupe & though it is not luxurious it isn't hideous & it handles well while being as reliable as the sunrise. Don't buy American they are soft & problematic, the Crossfire convertable with the spoiler kit looks good but is a little unreliable. A hard top BMW coupe would probably be your best bet though not a Z car they lack a certain asthetic appeal.

The vintage Porsche is very cool, but you're going to face high running costs and take a gamble on the reliability. If neither of those are problems ($$$ or access to other cars), then it would be very tempting!
