Wander down the side streets and try the grubby-looking back alleys too - its where all the best places are hidden! Maybe start with Flinders Lane or Little Collins and then go where your feet take you :)
Apparently the edge (a glass cube projected out of the building nearly 300m above ground) at Eureka Skydeck is good. I haven't been though.
If you are missing the hot chocolates etc from Paris, then get brioche from Filou's (Lygon St, Carlton North) and hot chocolate from either Sugadough or Blue Attic (Lygon St, Brunswick). Have fun!
