I came across an article on Product Dose about the
Postmodern Utilo Tea Stick. You basically throw in some loose tea and drop the stick into a cup of water - a really lazy way to make tea. The stick is described as being made of "the brand's distinctively bold stainless steel"... Uh, what modern kitchen appliance
isn't made from stainless steel these days?
I can't help but find it all very wrong. Sure, it's a handy idea. But tea should NEVER involve stainless steel, of any kind.
Pewter, yes. Silver, of course. Find bone china - most definitely! But not stainless steel.
Tea is a historical and cultural institution - bring back the good old-fashioned tea-pot!!
