haha nah man its totally cool. i mean i used to wear tsubi and - well lets just say i gave em away without hessitation.

but i am the type of person who does save and save and spends X amount on one item ($910 on lanvin sneakers *aherm*) lol- mainly because i've learnt from experimenting that thats the best way for me. i've found my own style through that - so now when i do buy something - the price doesnt worry me because i know for me it's for keeps.

just two things that i think would really help you if you are starting out with the whole fashion thing is this:

Quality of the product (is the material sturdy etc...)
and

Quality of the design.

unfortunately jack london doesnt really do any of this for me - because the coats are too thin for melbourne winter and the designs have plagerized intellectual property.

im sure you'll settle into your own style and find this out for yourself - because all good wardrobes need to be developed. its funny how all the youngins i know (17-19yr olds) who have a very mature sense of style also have very strong sense of self - more so then their peers - or what not. but they too also have the mentality of saving up for quality products and designs.

some of them actually wanted to go in there dressed head to toe in dior homme and ask "can i have the copy of this" haha.

but a mate did discourage 5 of his friends from shopping there and told them to head off to little collins st.

HA! Take that Jack London! No International Student money for you! muahahaha

No, I'm not being vindictive - im just saying - melbourne mens fashion is so young it needs to be disciplined. I'm here to educate as well. haha

good luck with your next purchases wolfish rake! Quality not quantity!

Thanks.
I usually subscribe to the quality not quantity school, my father instilled it in me, I've been lucky enough to get his tailored leather jacket. It's just that I don't want to go all out for work clothes, and I admit sometimes I'm a fence sitter.
I'm strongly thinking about just getting things tailor made now, but that's another topic.

Here you go Joe, your thread has been picked up at Slam X Hype.

A select quote;

In Melbourne of the newest of these brands is Jack London, with a fit out that is a patronising amalgamation of other local boutiques, staff that smell like aids medicine and designs proudly lifted from Slimane, Jun Takahashi and Junya Watanabe it is the first of many to fill the new demand caused by the shift.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

BURN!

I think that's from my friend's workmates boyfriend. Yeah!
za-zing

I did a quick google search of Jack London Melbourne and oddly enough the website hasn't come up. hummmm? come out come out where ever you are.

I had a friend who was about to go in there and say "can i have the replica of this jacket?" hahaha

no really i don't mean to be mean at all - if they just changed their designs and threw in a bit of originality in it then we can all move forward.

I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the brand does move forward.

When looking for Jack London melbourne I actually found this website because of this post, I think it was ranked 1st or 2nd.
They need some SEO work, I'd volunteer but they might pay me in clothes.
Stupid pants...at least I learnt my lesson fairly early.
