The latest designer for Target has been announced and it is to be Gaultier;

Jean Paul Gaultier for Target pays tribute to the American woman, celebrating the forces of style both past and present in American pop culture, the retailer said.

So what do you think we'll be seeing?

I think we'll be seeing a lot of buzz but not much love.

Target is partnering with legendary French fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier as the third designer in a series of Designer Collaborations, a unique program that features well-established designers who draw inspiration from a collaborative partner, muse or creative element. The exclusive Jean Paul Gaultier for Target collection pays tribute to the American woman celebrating the forces of style both past and present in American pop culture. The collection will launch on Target.com and in more than 250 Target stores nationwide March 7, 2010. The affordable fashion collection will be available through April 11, 2010.

Designer Collaborations, which is separate from the companys GO International initiative, is another way in which Target brings an emporium of designers to its guests. These exclusive collections bring top design at unbeatable prices to women everywhere, for a limited time only.

Definitely old. It can't maintain the buzz. But I shan't complain as long as quality clothes are being released as a result of it. To be honest, I almost prefer Target Australia's attempt at using little known designers for capsule collections. It gave you unique designs, and helped promote largely unheard of talent.

Rodarte, JPG, Anna Sui, McQueen...we don't have Target in the UK! :(

I have to say though, I have been disappoited with some of the stuff. I did quite like the ribcage number from Rodarte.

I think the buzz is dying however, similar with Kate Moss/ Christopher Kane for Topshop, but I have to say...roll on Louise Goldin.
