Kelly Clarkson for Elle, or, how much photoshopping?

I could be wrong, but last I saw of Kelly Clarkson, she was looking a bit less like that, and a little more like this:

Which leads me to the question, how much photoshopping is acceptable? For all the magazines who preach about curves and healthy body image, it's it then hypocritical to go and photoshop them to obviously make them smoother and thinner?

I'm not sure about Elle (don't read it), but it's acceptable and standard in this day and age. What isn't acceptable is when magazines Photoshop the hell out of some starlet, and then preach in the same (or subsequent issue) how fashion gives young girls body issues.

it could quite easily be that she has losy a kilo or 2 and has a flattering dress on for her figure, unlike the items above...?!

Wow that's just harsh... not the photoshopping the accompanying text:

She is Alanis Morissette without the Finger-Pointing. Avril Lavign with a brain

I hope Avril & Alanis remember this next time Elle asks them for a shoot.

haha hilarious, i didnt even notice that. very harsh on both of the women... alanis is amazing, and i think that saying that avril doesnt have a brain is a bit far fetched....
