This is a thread to talk about who has inspired you or been a mentor to you in your love of, and education about, fashion and the lifestyle it lends itself to. Not necessarily what you learned on the street, but definitely people or things that have inspired you that weren't taught in a classroom.

There are a few reasons for me but I'll start with one: This photo of my grandmother from the late 50's. She was an absolutely elegant woman in every situation.

Seth Godin, A huge thanks to Daniel for introducing me to this guy he is incredible when it comes to marketing

I have tonnes of inspirations but I'll come through with them as I get around to it :).

Awesome idea for a thread.

My mother. The epitome of class and learning from whom I stubbornly refused to learn from until a few years ago. I was a graceless, fashion-less tomboy and now I've figured out what I really love and that she was actually right about well... everything. =)

Mine would be Uma Thurman...she inspires me in every way...her grace is countless. She is an angel. Much love for her!

All great - I'm going to have to follow S.Mc.C on this one and say my Grandmother... Aside from her wonderful cooking, she's hardened by life but finds happiness in the simple things. It reminds me of what's really important.

Fashion-wise, I would have to say my dad- my only family member with expensive taste- who has taught me the valuable lesson that quality should always override quantity. He was also very independant and un-trend driven in his day which is another thing he's encouraged.
