Okay everyone, I've got a problem on my hands. In three weeks I'll be attending my school graduation. I've got a nice Lanvin dress and I've figured out what to do with my hair, but I REALLY don't know what shoes should go with this! If anyone can give me some advice it would be wonderful. xx
Note: because I'm not as tall as the model below, the dress actually comes up to my calves.
If it comes down to your calves you'll want heels to flatter it. Have you decided on other accessories? You could do all black and just go with some black platform pumps or black stilettos. Or if you want to go more daring and do a contrast colour?
Nice dress - almost has a 50's feel with those lines.
I'd go for a deeply coloured hue that matched your tones - IE plum, aubergine, deep red, just to lift the dress a bit. Or as the dress has a silver sheen to it, go for a matt silver and match your accessories. With that neckline, I'd go for a long lanyard or chain.
Shoes - go tall, if the dress hits your calf, you'll want to emphasize your height. But as its an important occasion and you don't want to run the risk of falling over, only go for a height that your comfortable with. And don't forget to wear them in!
I remember my school graduation... Certainly didn't have a designer dress!! Haven't the times changed when school girls (albiet graduating ones!) can afford designer luxuries...
dpd - Because of the way the shoulders are cut, if I wear jewellery I'll come out looking like a grandma. I've been thinking about black pumps as well, but it depends on whether I wear stockings or not. Don't want to look too toned down!
missdannielle - OH I got this dress because my mum bought it for herself two to three years ago, and realise it doesn't fit her anymore! So in other words, it's a hand-me-down, albeit a really nice one. Thanks for all the advice (:
