Perhaps almost as a slap in the face to the Mini Dress Trend, celebrities have been spotted around wearing long, ankle length casual dresses. It's a shock to the system after wearing teeny tiny dresses for so long.

Jessica Biel was seen playing ball with a dog in the park, wearing a long figure hugging blue dress. The Olsens have been known to dress up their long dresses as well as wearing long black skirts casually with oversized sunnies.

The trend has been supported by brands such as Missoni and Diane Von Furstenberg.

Kate Moss was also spotted here wearing a flowing floral Maxi Dress by Marc Jacobs. She has been seen frequently wearing this trend within the last few months. So from Mini to Max, would you wear the long skirt trend?

When the long dress started coming into mainstream stores in anticipation for spring i was very excited. i was sort of like fiiinally i dont have to wear a mini in order to stay "in fashion." i like the long dresses, but i think that its a harser trend for shorter ladies like stated before. too much material on a shorter lady, sometimes just makes her look shorter, but pair it with some cute heels and i think you'll be good to go. i like the long casual dress because it is simply more comfortable :-) i can move

All you shorter ladies might be struggling with the maxi dress but at least you can cinch it round the waist with a nice big belt I'm 5'11 and I cant find a single one anywhere that is long enough for me! I love them too! Ruru is so right they look really lady like!

I think they look fantastic, but as with anything you have to have the body for it & it has to be well cut. When made in a suitable fabric a maxi dress can do as much as a mini to show off a good figure while still maittaining some little mystry.

Maxi dresses and skirts are still creeping their way, slowly but surely, into the wardrobes of celebrities. Here are some more:

Jessica Simpson wears an orange maxi dress, Keira Knightley, and Rachel Bilson out and about in a floral maxi skirt.

Im absolutely loving the look - its that casual goddess style - Nicole Richie was spotted in a few maxi dresses over the Summer . . . and so easy to wear too! just chuck it on and look fabulous! simple!

I would personally only wear long dresses to important events or occasions. As for casual long, floral dresses or long skirts, I think it looks kinda tacky and grandma material. Victoria's dress is really pretty !! but definitely not "casual" walk in the park kinda material.

We've seen Jessica Biel, the Olsens, and Kate Moss wear the Maxi Dress Trend, as well as Keira Knightley, Jessica Simpson and Rachel Bilson. Lindsay, when not in rehab, has also been known to wear maxi-dresses as casual summer-wear.
