From The Sun

Spring fashion week fever looms
A NEW season of fashion is set to pounce on Melbourne from next week.

September brings all the colour, frivolity and light of the fashion world, with Motorola Melbourne Spring Fashion Week and the Spring Racing Carnival gearing up for a massive season ahead.

About to start its 13th year, Spring Fashion Week has gone from strength to strength and is the perfect way for the public to get access to runway parades first hand.

More than 120 events will take place across the city from next Monday, including glamorous parades, fashion-in-art exhibitions, etiquette lessons, beauty bars and business seminars.

The highlight events will kick off from Tuesday with intimate salon shows each morning, including baubles from Jan Logan jewellery and Italian tailoring from Dom Bagnato, with the Melbourne Town Hall to host the main runway parades.

The Victoria Racing Club will host its popular annual luncheon at Flemington next Thursday, and Myer will dazzle with its race-wear parade.

Myer will also host free parades spouting out of their Bourke St windows from Wednesday, September 5, with million-dollar face Jennifer Hawkins taking to the catwalk in Wednesday's 11.30am and 12.30pm parades.

Saturday, September 8, is the first day of spring racing at the newly renovated Flemington course with the Decjuba Girls' Day Out race day.

For all Motorola Melbourne Spring Fashion Week information and tickets, visit www.thatsmelbourne.com.au or the Melbourne Town Hall box office.

Another promo shot

It's gotta be said - why all these promo shots without the face of fashion week? Defeats the purpose of having a face surely?

It's going to be an awesome one!!

The saga with the face of fashion week continues I noticed. Today's Sun had a slither article on page 4, using a photo of last year's face. It's the oddest branding I've ever seen for such a thing.

Uh huh couldn't agree more. It's odd that they only used her mouth for the passes?

The mouth actually appears to be from the larger poster they're using, which is actually Emm (a fashioniser) and not Jacqui Alexander.

ye go em! i think its just because shes not a model, though i dont udnerstand why they chose her, if anything really em is the face of fashion week! but she and her label are getting attention from all this so i suppose there is still benefit in it for her
